Welcome to Acadia's Math & Stats Help Centre (MASH)! Our goal is to help you with the mathematics or statistics content in your courses. This is a peer-tutoring (free of charge) service.
Who can use the MASH Centre?
Students in any INTRODUCTORY math or stats course can use the MASH centre during our drop-in hours to get some hints and help.
Students taking mathematical business or economics courses who have questions about statistics are also welcome to use the MASH drop-in centre during statistics times. The tutors MAY be able to help, although your questions may be in unfamiliar contexts.
Where is the MASH Centre?
The main MASH room is Huggins 167, which is located on the first floor of Huggins Science Hall. Please check the schedule below for room numbers for specific help sessions.
When is MASH open?
MASH runs from September 14 - December 5, 2026 in the fall and January 18 - April 10, 2027 in the winter. We are closed on the following holidays:
- Sept 30, Oct 12, Nov 11, Feb 15
During the Study Breaks, we have reduced hours (see below for more details).
What services does MASH offer?
MASH offers a suite of services to help students succeed. These include drop-in help, small group tutoring, and test review sessions. .
DROP IN HELP: If you need help with an assignment question, please attend a drop-in shift during the week. No reservation required!

Note: During the Fall Study Break, we have reduced Drop-In help. We have one shift on Wednesday, October 14 from 2 - 4pm in HSH 167 for any course.
SMALL GROUP TUTORING: If you are having difficulty in a course and would benefit from extra instruction and practice, please sign up for one of our small group tutoring sessions on our Moodle site. Sessions are 1-hour in length on Saturdays by reservation only. To book a seat, go here MASH | Moodle.
REVIEW SESSIONS: These are offered for some of our first-year courses before a test or final exam. Ask your professor if a review session is planned for your course.
What should I bring?
Please note that our tutors are not allowed to do your homework for you. Students should bring their class notes with them to the MASH Centre and the tutors will help them understand what they have been shown in class. They will work on examples similar to homework problems. Students should come prepared with specific questions.
